MACNO
Macno is the dictator of a state that looks very much like Italy, having got to power thanks to a sophisticated and ruthless use of television. A German TV journalist and her cameraman sneak into his residence with the aim of getting an exclusive interview with him, and both get stuck there. Written as if everything was seen through a video camera lens. When it was published, it greatly increased the number of my readers, was translated into several languages, and made it possible for me to become a full-time novelist.
