A young and naive aspiring writer meets a famous and very cynical novelist. He follows him to Rome, and his whole life is turned upside down. A novel about the attraction of opposites, and about the loss of innocence, about hypocrisy and inconsistency, about inspiration and craftsmanship, about Rome, Milano, politics, writing. One of my favourites.
